Certificate of Need Review Board Okays 280-Bed Hospital

As reported in The TimesDaily, the state’s CON Review Board has granted approval for a 280-bed replacement hospital for Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital.

RegionalCare spokesman Jeff Atwood said the company is pleased with the decision.

“The key question the CON board chairman asked of both parties is what would a new hospital mean to the people of the Shoals,” he said. “It’s clear by the unanimous decision, the board realizes the impact a new hospital would have on the access to health care for the people of the Shoals.”
